I am an honorary historian of the Concello de Narón. I was born in Ferrol and lived in Menorca from the age of seven to fourteen, after which I returned to Narón. I hold a PhD in Archaeology and Ancient History from USC (the University of Santiago de Compostela). From 1987 until my retirement, I worked as a historian, archaeologist, and archivist for the municipality of Narón. This position enabled me to carry out a long-term, factual, inter‑ and multidisciplinary study of the region before, during, and after the Roman domination of a millennia‑old Galician territory: The Land of Trasancos. I served as organizing secretary for three international congresses—The Celts of Atlantic Europe I, II, and III—as well as for the First Congress of the Institute of Celtic Studies, Ethnoarchaeology of the Celts in Hispania. I am currently the dean of the Galician Institute of Celtic Studies. As an active defender of Celtic civilization and of Galicia as the cradle of the Celts of Atlantic Europe, I helped restore—together with my colleague and friend Dr. Blanca García Fernández‑Albalat, and on an epistemic foundation—the Celtic studies that had been suppressed in Galicia after the Civil War. My inter‑ and multidisciplinary methodological approach to archaeology and ethnography led to the development of a new method that makes it possible to identify institutions in prehistory—a new branch of archaeology that enriches the existing ones. This method was formulated in my doctoral dissertation (awarded highest honors, cum laude, and commended by the committee), Treba and Territorium, which Venceslas Kruta referred to as “Institutional Archaeology.”
